Foundation Failure Warning Signs
A lot of homeowners call us and want to know what foundation failure warning signs they should be on the lookout for. If you notice any of the following, be sure to contact us immediately:
- Cracked walls
- Sagging floors
- Cracked wall or floor tiles
- Windows and doors not closing correctly
- Cracks around door and window frames
- Your home appears to be "sinking" on one or both sides
Foundation push piers from SafeBasements™ were specially-designed to be a lasting solution to a sinking foundation which is brought on by poor soil conditions around the home. In the past, the answer to this kind of problem would be total replacement of the foundation. This means that the home would have to be jacked up and then the foundation underneath would be replaced, and this process could take weeks or months to complete based on the experience and knowledge of the workers as well as the weather conditions in the area. MHM Foundation Solutions installs these effective push piers as an alternative to total foundation replacement. These foundation piers are driven through failing, weak soil into suitable load bearing strata deep within the earth. These push piers will be able to stabilize and lift the foundation of your home by transferring the weight of your home onto this load bearing strata.
Helical piers are another alternative to total foundation replacement. These piers are actually screwed into the earth, and this is something that makes them different from push piers. The type of foundation pier you need for your home will be determined after a diagnosis of your structural problem. These foundation piers will be screwed deep within the earth so that they can provide a safe, strong, secure base for your home's foundation. Over time, they will be able to lift and stabilize your home back to where it needs to be, getting rid of your foundation settlement problem once and for all!
These foundation piers can be installed quickly, and in virtually any kind of weather. There isn't much excavation needed, and this is great news for the homeowner who doesn't want their landscaping and yard destroyed. No heavy machinery or equipment will be needed to install the piers. Instead, the helical piers can be installed with small tools. We will be sure to clean up the work area at the end of the job so you aren't left with a mess or any clutter to clean up on your own.

Push Pier Installation Process
Foundation Pier Installation
- First, we dig to the bottom of the foundation's footing
- Second, the footing of your home is prepared for installation of the foundation pier bracket
- An installation ram is used to hydraulically push the pier to solid bedrock or stable soil deep within the earth
- A cap is installed, together with the lift cylinders. The house and foundation is then lifted to the appropriate level
- The cylinders are taken out, and the trench is backfilled
